As a woman entrepreneur working with local women in Nepal to produce high-quality spice blends and pickles, I am constantly inspired by the resilience and determination of the women I work with.

Nepal is a country with a rich culinary heritage, and the local women possess a wealth of knowledge and skills when it comes to producing delicious and unique spices and pickles. However, they often struggle to make a sustainable livelihood due to lack of access to markets, resources and knowledge.

As a woman entrepreneur, I understand the challenges that these women face, and I am committed to working with them to overcome these barriers. Through the creation of a women-led business, we are able to empower the local women by providing them with a source of income, as well as access to markets, resources and training. While we bring in the technical part, our didis bring in their traditional knowledge and expertise in preparing top quality spice blends, and pickles. It is truly a beautiful experience to see them work their magic.

As my mother says, “High quality ingredients are key to making the best pickles”, we work closely with our farmer partners in rural Karnali to solve this issue. This presents them with an opportunity to get the right value of their products. We also organize trainings and meetings from time to time, to support our farmer partners to help improve their skills and knowledge for better harvest and farming.

Another challenge we face is the lack of access to markets. To overcome this, we have focused on creating unique and high-quality products that can be sold both locally and internationally. We have also focused on building strong relationships with buyers and exporters to provide our products with the highest possible exposure.

Working with our didis has been a truly transformative experience. It has been an honor to be a part of their journey and to help them to achieve their goals. I am proud of the products we produce and the impact that our business is making in the lives of these women and their families. I hope to continue growing this tiny Sattva family by bringing more entrepreneurial and inspiring didis in our network and working closely with them to bring the best quality, delicious Nepali products to the world.
